There is considerable commentary in the media on the city-owned Haywood Street/Page Avenue property across from the Basilica of St. Lawrence, and much of it misleading and lacking in facts.
Here are four easy options for those who want the facts.
Email City Clerk Maggie Burleson and ask to be notified when the issue is coming up on the city agenda (mburleson@ashevillenc).
On Fridays, look in the Asheville Citizen-Times in the Sports section, just before the classified ads; there will be a notice of upcoming city meetings.
Email members of City Council and ask them for factual information about what's going on. Council member Esther Manheimer is especially excellent at responding (AshevilleNCCouncil@ashevillenc.gov).
Attend City Council meetings when the issue is on the agenda.
