I commend you for letting different opinions grace your pages, not necessarily all on the left side. However, after reading Jerry Sternberg’s drivel, I decided it was a waste of my precious reading time and will waste it on him no further. His analogies don’t even make sense—like [residents of] nongated communities [“The Gospel According to Jerry: Who Gets to Be the Gatekeeper?”, April 4] have people just walking in and using their kitchens and bathrooms, or aren’t allowed to lock their doors. Stupid. Nongated persons with swimming pools make damn sure that kids can’t fall into them. They are liable, too. Stupid again.
Please, just get rid of Jerry. If you want to let the right speak, find someone who has something of a weighted argument worth reading and considering, and isn’t like Jerry, who seems to derive pleasure listening to his own drivel.
