Next time I pick up a new Mountain Xpress and see a letter by Stewart or Terry David, I will go to the nearest McDonald’s restaurant and purchase a double Quarter Pounder with cheese, then proceed to support the acquisition of a not-yet-selected local animal product and encourage others to do the same.
I’m not kidding. I will not purchase or otherwise acquire these or any other such animal products unless I see another letter from either Stewart or Terry David (or both of them).
I’m serious. I’ll do it. Another letter is the only thing holding me back. Seriously.
Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
This letter titled “Fries with that?” published on 2-14-07 displays an extreme lack of intelligence and compassion. It is very sad to read such comments and even more depressing to think that there are people that REALLY do lack kindness in their hearts on so many levels.
Jodi
Who is Jodi kidding? Nina’s letter was hilarious!
To suggest that folks who eat meat lack “kindness in their hearts” is ludicrous.
Do vegetarians of Jodi’s ilk have no sense of humor?
