Asheville’s public green spaces are rare—so rare that I, a true Asheville native, have to get my cognitive gears cranking to even identify where they are. Oh yeah, City/County Plaza. Wow, what memories! Shindig on the Green, Greek Festival, major Bele Chere venue.
But wait a minute. Mr. Coleman is putting yet another high-rise in Asheville, right? One whose dark shadow will be cast on this “public” land; one that will forever ruin this valuable public space. All so the rich can get even richer.
Wait. It’s not too late. Come on, all you lovers of this eclectic and wonderful city. It’s time we all stand and say, “No way, Mr. Coleman. Take your bulldozers and just run along.”
