So, you are driving on the road and you see a bicycle, what is your first thought?
Do you think of how much fun you had as a kid on a bike?
Do you think of the last time your were on your own bike?
Do you think of your own kids on a bike?
Do you think something else?
Please, when you see a bike on the road, remember that they are—someone's son or daughter—someone's wife or husband—someone's mother or father.
Please treat not only cyclists but everyone on the road like they are your own family, because next time you read about something horrific on the roads, it could be someone you know and love.
Keep us all safe! We are one big family!

Thanks for reading through to the end…
We share your inclination to get the whole story. For the past 25 years, Xpress has been committed to in-depth, balanced reporting about the greater Asheville area. We want everyone to have access to our stories. That’s a big part of why we've never charged for the paper or put up a paywall.
We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
Is he going to veer in front of me?
Is the KFC drive through still going to be open after slowing down for this cyclist?
