The Other Way Around tackles many of these big-picture themes, but LaMotte’s approach is subtle. “I don’t like songs that are all message-y, that hit people over the head,” he says. His music almost always has an objective, “but I want to make the point artfully, in such a way that people can interpret it as they like.”
White Horse Black Mountain hosts the teen takeover on the last Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The next headlining act is Neesh on July 31.
Musical collaborators BJ Leiderman, David LaMotte and other special guests will join Ridenhour for his sixteenth birthday performance at White Horse Black Mountain on Sunday, June 19.
