In all, the festival offers more than 40 separate events, with topics ranging from world building in science fiction to the ways music can inform poetry. And, while not all of the sessions involve travel, migration and immigration, many do.
The Community Author Award will provide Marshall a yearlong residency in UNC Asheville’s Ramsey Library, where she’ll enjoy a study carrel and access to campus resources.
Green leads a free poetry workshop for teens at the Burton Street Community Street Center from 1-3 p.m.
