RiverLink and Americorps team up for French Broad River cleanup *Video*
RiverLink and Americorps teamed up for a Sept. 9 cleanup of the French Broad River. The group hauled a plethora of trash and unusual items out of a stretch of the river near downtown Asheville, including huge tires, a rocking horse, a news bin and more.

OM Sanctuary buys Richmond Hill Inn site
The Oshun Mountain Sanctuary, a nonprofit “dedicated to creating a center for rejuvenation,” has purchased the site of the former Richmond Hill Inn. The group, in partnership with RiverLink, announced the purchase today, Aug. 1, and noted the intent of raising $5 million more to complete construction of the project.

What connects RiverLink, a 6-year-old from Southern Pines, N.C., and Katy Couric? An interest in the Gulf oil disaster. CBS Evening Show host Couric contacted RiverLink recently after seeing a RiverLink blog that featured 6-year-od Skylar Fielder-Jones’ efforts to collect cleanup supplies for the oil disaster and donate them to the Asheville-based nonprofit.
