You've probably heard about Floating Action's new record, it's famous fans (including Fruit Bats' Eric Johnson and pretty much all of Dr. Dog) and the spectacularly-rad cameos by My Morning Jacket's Jim James (who also co-released the record and remixed several tracks). The band's athleticism, however, has received less attention.
Until now, that is. Last month, we joined FA as the band shot its latest video, an '80s-themed short to accompany the bouncy rock anthem "Matador." The video was filmed and edited by local photographer (and Grey Eagle bartender) Sandlin Gaither, the creative force behind the band's "50 Lashes" video. Without revealing too much, we can say that the calorie-killing two minutes is packed with action, bright costumes and Kauffman's signature dry humor. We can also confirm that the experience left Floating Action sweaty and out of breath (we were worn out just from watching). The rest will be revealed when the video is officially released later this month.

In the meantime, Floating Action is hitting the road again (the band just returned from a weeklong Northeast tour), this time for a string of dates with Band of Horses. It seems the band's year of complete-and-total-awesomeness is still going strong.
