Smart bets web extra: The Archrivals and Soulgrass Folk Rebellion

“This week, Ashevillians, we appear at The One Stop,” writes Chuck Lichtenberger of The Archrivals. “It will rock. It will roll. It will save your soul.” If you’ve been to an Archrivals show before, you know this to be true. Great pop hooks, keyboard rock that actually rocks, and plenty of zany antics from the delightfully disturbed mind of Lichtenberger. This is the Archrivals first show in six months and, we’re told, a celebration of Lichtenberg’s birthday.

Soulgrass Folk Rebellion also performs. This is singer/songwriter Oso Rey’s post-Soulgrass Rebellion project.

Friday, Jan. 13. 10 p.m. showtime, $5 cover. Want free tickets? Xpress will give away a pair at 2 p.m. today. Be our friend on Facebook to win.

We’re pretty sure that you know journalism faces big challenges these days. Advertising no longer pays the whole cost. Media outlets around the country are asking their readers to chip in. Xpress needs help, too. We hope you’ll consider signing up to be a member of Xpress. For as little as $5 a month — the cost of a craft beer or kombucha — you can help keep local journalism strong. It only takes a moment.
