Satan vs. Laundry
Friday, February 28th at 8:00pm
Toy Boat Community Art Space 101 Fairview Rd. Asheville, NC 28803
Accordion Time Machine, Anam Cara’s experimental theatre ensemble, has a great new show in store around the theme “Satan vs. Laundry”. They are excited to be performing in a new space and will be performing at Toy Boat for the foreseeable future. They perform once every 2 months for a one night only affair in the realm of hilarious, absurd, and most importantly experimental theatre. The performance takes place at Toy Boat Community Art Space 101 Fairview Rd. Asheville, NC 28803. The show technically starts at 8pm but audience members are highly encouraged to arrive early, as Accordion Time Machine likes to host a range of fun surprises before the show “begins.” Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door. Tickets and information at www.anamcaratheatre.org. Visit Toy Boat at www.toyboatcommunityartspace.com.
Accordion Time Machine works together collaboratively to produce their shows. All material is original and written by the ensemble. The pieces that are performed are developed through a workshopping process involving improvisation, and are influenced by the non-illusory theatre aesthetic of the NeoFuturists of NYC and Chicago where there is no suspension of disbelief and the audience/performer conventions of traditional theatre are held loosely. The audience can expect pieces that are raw and personal, silly and absurd, and that incorporate audience interaction and the element of surprise.
Accordion Time Machine brings a unique theatrical experience to the community. Anam Cara Theatre strives to provide the community with progressive, thought provoking theatre that incorporates music, art, and the written and spoken word into productions, creating a unique blend of multiple art forms.
