From the press release:

[ASHEVILLE, NC, March 28, 2012] – Make a difference and help save lives on Easter! Join the American Red Cross for “Power in the Blood,” a blood drive at the Asheville Donation Center Easter Sunday, April 8, 2012. Just a single blood donation can help as many as three people and make a difference in the lives of these patients and their families. So, put the power of faith into action and help save a life!

It only takes about an hour to donate blood, and in that hour, you can create a lifetime of memories for hospital patients in your community and across the country. By taking time to donate this Easter, you can help the Red Cross ensure a stable blood supply for all patients who need blood products.

“Power in the Blood” will take place at the Asheville Donation Center:

Sunday, April 8, 2012
11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
100 Edgewood Road
Asheville, NC 28804

All presenting donors will receive a free American Red Cross t-shirt to commemorate Earth Month, and automatically be entered to win a $1,000 gift card. Donors may also enjoy fellowship and food following their donation.

Blood can be safely donated every 56 days. Most healthy people age 17 and older, or 16 with parental consent, who weigh at least 110 pounds, are eligible to donate blood. Donors who are 18 and younger must also meet specific height and weight requirements.
