A little about the finalists:

A New Website for Bee City USA

Bee City USA fosters ongoing dialogue in urban areas to raise awareness of the role pollinators play in sustaining three-quarters of the world’s plant species and what each of us can do to provide them with healthy habitat.

With an Awesome Foundation grant, we could 1) add a membership forum and events page to the site, 2) set up newsletter automation rules and develop email content to automate our newsletters, and 3) migrate to a domain level email address

Chefs @ Downtown Welcome Table Creative Partnership

Chefs @ Downtown Welcome Table is a creative partnership between local chefs and restaurateurs and the Downtown Welcome Table, based on the belief that one of the best ways to love people is through food.

The money will be used to fund a creative session where restaurant partners and program stakeholders gather with a design firm to discuss vision, goals and expectations for the Downtown Welcome Table/Chefs at Welcome Table partnership

Rights Of Passage Adventure Weekend

The Rights Of Passage Adventure Weekend offers boys—many of which come from broken or abusive homes—an opportunity for deep spiritual reflection, transformation, in a container of overflowing support from men and peers. One Awesome Foundation grant would allow us to offer three full scholarships this fall.

AVL Food Fans Podcast

Our mission is to connect eaters with quality, local, food makers. Spreading the good word about the great Asheville food scene is important to us, and we believe that it is important to everyone!

Each episode is recorded at Zapow! Studios on Battery Park Ave right downtown and costs us $100, which pays for our producer Matt Johnson to record the show for 1 hour, then mix it, post & host it on Spreaker, and”blow-up” social media. I would use the $1,000 to pay for 10 episodes. All of the money would be given directly to Matt, a hard working local business person.
