Asheville Board of REALTORS announces 2015 president and awards 2014 Realtor of the Year

The Asheville Board of REALTORS held their annual inauguration gala for the 2015 President and Directors of the Board on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015 at the Cliffs at Walnut Cove.

The annual event named David Wall, President of the Board for 2015, in addition to honoring three REALTORS for their accomplishments in 2014. “I am honored to be taking over as the 2015 Association President, and look forward to continuing the hard work that others have accomplished,” said David Wall of West Asheville Real Estate.

David grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and served six years in the United States Coast Guard. He earned a B.S. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.David became a licensed broker and REALTOR in 1990, and practiced real estate brokerage as a full-time agent in Atlanta for 10 years with Metro Brokers Better Homes & Gardens. He moved to Asheville, N.C. in 2001 and joined RE/MAX Advantage Realty, practicing full-time with RE/MAX for seven years before opening a small independent firm, West Asheville Real Estate. He has experience as a land developer and as a landlord, although his specialty is selling homes as a neighborhood specialist in West Asheville. David currently serves on the Board of Directors of Meals on Wheels of Asheville and Buncombe County, and will serve as the Region 9 Vice President for the North Carolina Association of REALTORS.

Liz Wiederhold of Seller Solutions was named the 2014 REALTOR of the year and humbly accepted her award with, “I’m honored to accept this coveted award on behalf of the all the exceptional volunteers at the Asheville Board of REALTORS who work tirelessly to better our community through affordable housing initiatives, legislative advocacy, education programs, and community outreach. I am very proud and humbled to be recognized as a leader among these leaders.”

Kathleen Blanchette of KB Properties and Randall Barnett of The Buyer’s Agent of Asheville both received the 2014 Presidential Award for their involvement with the board and community endeavors.

Additional 2015 officers announced include: David Wall – President, Jeremy Owen – Pres/Elect, Pete McHugh – Treasurer, Elaine Ingle – ABR Services, William Coin – President, Isaac Allen – Secretary and Cindy Ward – Treasurer.
