Bernstein Family preview party fundraiser at Magnetic Theatre, Sept. 14

PRESS RELEASE FROM THE MAGNETIC THEATRE:

It’s Christmas in July! Every year, The Magnetic Theatre’s Bernstein Family Christmas Spectacular sells out its entire run, often before the show even opens. If you’ve ever felt frustrated because you missed your chance to get tickets to the show the Asheville Citizen-Times calls “the Christmas show to see in Asheville”, then be sure to attend The Magnetic Theatre’s first public fund-raiser, The Bernstein Family Christmas Preview Party on September 14. All your favorite Bernstein characters will be in attendance and will perform special Bernstein numbers, including a glimpse of the new show, and you’ll have the opportunity to purchase your seats to this year’s production before everyone else gets a shot in October. Tax-deductible tickets to the fund-raiser will go on sale July 25, to celebrate a little Bernstein Christmas magic in July!

Sponsored by Oskar Blues Brewery and Grapevine Distributors, this fun evening will give you a chance to rub elbows (or more, depending on how many drinks they have!) with the Bernstein family. In addition to being able to take holiday photos with Baby Jesus and Judy Bernstein, ticket-buyers can participate in a raffle for a 30-second, personal commercial spot in the show that can be used to advertise your business or your marriage proposal! (Some restrictions apply.) A silent auction will include such items as dinner for four at the Edison at Grove Park Inn, a massage, dinner at The Junction with Judy Bernstein, LaZoom tickets, and other local items. Join Jerry Bernstein on a tour of the theatre dressing room and backstage, or donate to Jamaica as she Passes the Yarmulke to support The Magnetic Theatre’s ongoing efforts to bring dynamic new work, locally grown, to the stage.

Don’t miss your chance to toast a frosty beverage (from Oskar Blues) or a glass of fine wine (from Grapevine Distributors) to the impending season side by side with Jimbo Bernstein, see a teaser scene from the new show, and hear Judy sing her trademark “Silver Balls.” Tickets to the event are $25, tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law, and include two free drinks, appetizers, and the chance to buy tickets to The 45th Annual Bernstein Family Christmas Spectacular weeks before they go on sale to the general public!
