Join the nationally recognized Asheville arts and food communities as they come together to help fight hunger in Western North Carolina at MANNA FoodBank’s 15th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser on Monday, September 26, 2016.
This fantastic event brings together the best of what Asheville has to offer
while supporting MANNA FoodBank’s mission to involve, educate, and unite people in the work of ending hunger in WNC. The event is separated into two meals, lunch and dinner, and showcases the best of Asheville’s food and arts scene all in one.
How It Works: Each ticket holder chooses a handmade soup bowl from a huge selection of beautifully crafted pottery made by area crafters and artisans. Then, attendees have a chance to dine on delicious soups from some of the top restaurants in Asheville, including Corner Kitchen, Biscuit Head, Ambrozia, Chestnut, Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort, and many more. Guest enjoy live music from the area’s best musicians and a chance to get started on early holiday shopping at the Collector’s Corner market.
The DoubleTree Doubles Down on Fighting Hunger
The DoubleTree by Hilton Asheville-Biltmore is yet again stepping up to help end hunger by hosting this event, and thanks to their commitment, MANNA will be able to provide more tickets to the dinner event. In the last ten years, the DoubleTree has helped provide over 1,175,000 meals by hosting a portion of the event. This year, DoubleTree is hosting both the lunch and dinner, enabling us to sell more tickets and thus increase the impact this fundraiser has by providing more meals to those in our community at risk of food insecurity.
The Arts Community Comes Together
Every year, talented area potters get busy making over 1,000 bowls for this fantastic event. These gorgeous bowls are part of what makes this event so special: Every guest takes home a piece of art that is not just functional – it is a reminder that there are still thousands of empty bowls across WNC
