Dispute over Montreat town hall continues

As the dispute between the Town of Montreat and a collection of residents known as The Montreaters For a New Town Hall In a Better Location enters its fourth month, parties from both sides are still searching for common ground.

In an August 2 Montreat Cottagers meeting, residents voted 61 to 19 to ask the Montreat Town Council to appoint a blue ribbon task force to evaluate additional sites for the proposed town hall that is currently set to be constructed on three empty lots located between Florida Terrace and Arkansas Trail.
