Former Register of Deeds says current occupant distorting his record

Here’s an excerpt from the Asheville Citizen-Times article by columnist John Boyle:

Otto DeBruhl retired as Buncombe County’s Register of Deeds more than a year ago, after a 33-year run.

But he said this week he feels like he’s still embroiled in the current primary election — and he wants to set the record straight.

“I’ll make it official: I am not on the ballot,” DeBruhl said.

DeBruhl is upset with what he maintains are distortions of his record and his office’s efficiency, as well as claims of financial savings by current Register of Deeds Drew Reisinger that DeBruhl says are misleading.
