Presentation about the Affordable Care Act set for next Thursday

John Wingerter, director of Health Insurance Information Services for the Council on Aging of Buncombe County, will present an informational program on the Affordable Care Act (ACA) at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17 at UNC Asheville’s Reuter Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Wingerter will give an overview of the ACA and the Federally Facilitated Marketplace in North Carolina, and he will review the information needed to apply for coverage and a subsidy. There will be a question and answer session after the presentation.

The Council on Aging of Buncombe County has been designated a navigator agency by Health & Human Services for the purpose of helping people enroll in health care plans through the Federally Facilitated Marketplace in North Carolina.
