IPC Healthcare, Inc. , a leading national acute hospitalist and post-acute provider organization, announced today that it has acquired Extended Care Physicians (ECP), one of the largest private practice post-acute groups in the Carolinas. The acquisition expands the post-acute presence in North & South Carolina.
Headquartered in Asheville, North Carolina, ECP for many years has provided primary medical care to older adults in over 130 nursing homes, assisted living facilities and retirement communities throughout North and South Carolina.

It also gives us the capability to explore partnerships with both acute care hospitals and payers in both states.”

The patient encounters for the practice are estimated at approximately 160,000 on a combined annualized basis.
