Montford Park Players opens “King Lear” Oct. 9

“King Lear” opens this Friday, October 9th, for a three-week run at the Asheville Masonic Temple. It’s been a great pleasure working with our stellar cast – starring David Mycoff in the title role – bringing this classic of English theater to life as deception, betrayal and revenge lead to the greatest theatrical denouements ever written. Tickets available online or at the door.

Please note that our final dress rehearsal on Thursday, October 8th, is open to the public on a first come, first serve basis. We only ask that you ‘pay what you can’ to help defray costs.

The Montford Park Players, North Carolina’s longest running Shakespeare Festival, is pleased to announce its opening of King Lear, by William Shakespeare, opening October 8 at the Masonic Temple, 80 Broadway Street in downtown Asheville.

The production will be directed by Scott Keel.  The opening night performance Oct. 8 will be Pay What We’re Worth Night.  Additional performances will be:

Friday, October 9 – 7:30 pm

There will be no performance on Saturday, October 10, due to a conflicting event at the Temple.

Sunday, October 11 – 2:30 pm

Friday, October 16 – 7:30 pm

Saturday, October 17 – 7:30 pm

Sunday, October 18 – 2:30 pm

Friday, October 23 – 7:30 pm

Saturday, October 24 – 7:30 pm

Sunday, October 25 – 2:30 pm
