New Belgium seeks art submissions from Asheville makers

In anticipation of assimilating into Asheville’s art-driven community, New Belgium is seeking submissions of ‘retail-type’ items to add to existing projects headed up by the company’s professional design team. The brewery seeks “quality, handmade and local” goods that align with New Belgium’s brand rather than vendor proposals.

From New Belgium’s submissions page:

For those not familiar with this area, Asheville’s maker culture – aside from helping to shape the city’s identity over the last number of decades – is a significant economic driver for this region. From visual and performing arts to artisan food and drink, to custom built spaces and furniture, to designers and photographers, Asheville has rich regional history of textile arts and manufacturing, education and the arts and these inspirational blue ridges.

Founded with a maker sensibility and creative aspiration, we feel right at home in this community. Last year we mentioned that we’d be putting together an easy, low-effort online submission process for any artist interested in sharing their work with our creative team and here you’ll find it: AVL Artist Submissions

We’re looking for quality, handmade and local. While we are working with some artists and designers already, inspiring work might lead to opportunities that we hadn’t thought of. Architectural design features for interior and exterior of the LC and brewery as well as some retail-type items that align with our brand are of particular interest to us both now and in the future. If we see something that seems like a good fit for our new Asheville home, we’ll get in touch.

We are not looking for submissions from vendors. Please only submit if you are an artist or maker. Think Etsy and Houzz, not manufactured water bottles with logos on them. We’re all set there.

Thanks again for your interest and we look forward to seeing your work!
