Warmer weather means it’s ozone time: Land-of-Sky kicks off annual clean-air initiative

Ozone Season Kickoff Event and Press Conference

John Meyers, TVA’s air quality program manager, will be the featured speaker at the annual Ozone Season Kickoff Event and Press Conference on Friday, March 30, at Land-of-Sky Regional Council. He will discuss TVA’s air pollution settlement with the U.S. EPA and surrounding states and how the TVA will lower emissions. These emission reductions should improve air quality in Western North Carolina.

Officials from the N.C. Division of Air Quality and WNC Regional Air Quality Agency will discuss current air quality and improvement initiatives. The Clean Vehicles Coalition Coordinator will give an update on clean vehicle and fueling infrastructure deployment in the region.

This free event begins at 8:30 a.m. and will end at approximately 11a.m. To register, contact Bill Eaker at the Council.
