Weather service: Chance of rain today followed by slight chance of snow tonight

The National Weather Service says there is a chance of rain showers in the Asheville area before 5 p.m. Monday followed by a slight chance of rain and snow showers.

Skies will be mostly cloudy, with a high near 42. Northwest wind 10 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 24 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.

Little or no snow accumulation expected, the weather service says.
