Join Xpress staff reporters Jake Frankel and Michael Muller for live coverage, starting at 6:30 pm via Twitter, of tonight’s League of Women Voters Forum at UNC Asheville. The forum will feature the six candidates for NC state house, including Democratic incumbents Susan Fisher, Patsy Keever and Jane Whilden and their respective Republican challengers John Carroll (NC-114), Mark Crawford (NC-115) and Tim Moffitt (NC-116). The forum will take place at the Reuter Center and a moderator will pose written questions submitted by the audience; each candidate will have 90 seconds to respond. Following the question and answer period, each candidate will make a closing statement. Afterwards, there will be a candidate a “meet and greet” featuring many of the other candidates for elected office from 8 to 9:30 pm.The event is co-sponsored by the Leadership Asheville Forum, Children First, RiverLink and Mountain Xpress. The event is free and open to the public.
