  1. Nice images from the march. I looked and did not spot Mr. Chairman Chad Nesbitt in any of the pictures. Did he attend? I don’t know how many times he has said on this site he would personally defend any gay person from threat of assault. Was he willing to walk from Montford to Pack Square to show that support?

If Mr. Chairman Chad Nesbitt was unable to attend the march perhaps he would like to issue a statement in support of the rights of gay citizens to be able to walk the streets of Asheville without fear of being attacked for who they are perceived to be.

    Chris,

I didn’t see Cecil Bothwell, Holly Jones, David Gantt, Brownie Newman, Robin Cape, Heath Shuler, Kay Hagan, Bev Perdue, Walter Dalton, Martin Nesbitt, Jane Whilden, Susan Fisher, Patsy Keever or Barack Obama.

Do their absences also bring into question their support of acceptance of all peoples? Or maybe you should cover your bases before engaging in blind overly-partisan attacks.

I was unaware anyone thought of “Hate Crimes” as “Lesser Crimes”, but thanks for the heads up, regardless.

Also, Chris, I suspect MY Chad Chairman Nesbitt will not even look at this thread, as it isnt about Obama stealing our Liberty. It’s just about people in his constituency, and we all knows he doesnt care about them.

Bothwell, Newman, Cape, Nesbitt and Fisher have all shown their support for LGBT citizens being treated equally, on many occasions. Martin Nesbitt sponsored a North Carolina ENDA bill and Susan Fisher was instrumental in the Anti-Bullying bill that included LGBT students. Perhaps they weren’t in the march (I wasn’t able to make it either), but their work speaks for itself. Chad Nesbitt, on the other hand, can claim he would he is opposed to bullying and attacks on LGBT people, yet his actions show otherwise. He opposed both the NC ENDA bill and the Anti-Bullying bill because of LGBT inclusion, and he has implied that Transgendered people are predators on the Carolina Stompers website. Nesbitt’s work against LGBT citizens is well known.

  5. Thank you for your concern J. I was only interested in what Mr. Chairman Chad Nesbitt had to say since he has expounded on this subject so often in these pages.

Could be true Pff. I doubt the Chadster has his name on google alerts or other search notification systems. That is too complex even for me. Maybe one of his minions will peep in his ear.

Well, unlike Chad, none of them have stated here in these blogs that they would ‘help protect any homosexual experiencing harassment’, or some such thing. So clearly your ‘blind overly-partisan attacks’ is based on absolutely nothing other than your own assumptions and ignorance on the issue.

    Pfffy,

You’re right, I don’t stalk Chad on the message boards, so I am ignorant as to many of his past writings. As a Chad stalker, I’m glad you were able to clear that up for me, I do appreciate the insight.

What’s important is that the marchers responded in the most positive way they could with courage and conviction that there aren’t separate sets of rights for disparate individuals, but that there are only human rights. We shouldn’t belittle their efforts by seizing this thread for Chad bashing.

  8. Piffy!

how is being aware of the writings/published opinions of a local political leader ‘stalking’? I’d appreciate a detailed defense of your moronic accusation.
