This is a true experience I had recently.

Someone I’ve know for several years now, who is a self-described “conservative Republican” with deep religious views, responded to this question from me: “Well, what do you think of things now with a Republican governor and GOP controlled legislature?”

The answer I received, delivered with a reddening face and rising tone of voice, said “I guess I’ll have to switch parties.”

After picking myself up off the floor, I said “huh?, why?” to which he rejoined “because of the idiots now in charge in Raleigh.”

    Nuff said.
