The Asheville Affiliates is a community of more than 3,000 individuals who are invited to attend fundraising events hosted by and supporting Asheville-area nonprofit organizations.

“The Asheville Affiliates have helped dozens of local nonprofits over the last decade,” says Jonathan Frappier, Asheville Affiliates board president. “The 2008 board is committed to continuing this support in the community this year, as well as beginning to provide additional resources to the nonprofits we serve. Look for some exciting new changes taking place as well.”

The group is now accepting applications from Asheville-area nonprofits to host one of several fundraising events in the coming months. Past nonprofit benefactors include the Moog Foundation, Asheville Parks & Greenways, RiverLink and The Junior League of Asheville. All events are catered and include beer, wine and entertainment. Through local sponsorship, silent auctions and raffles, the goal of the group is to maximize fundraising possibilities with social events. Applications can be found online at www.affiliatesofasheville.com. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 2.

Looking to get involved? Events are open to anyone looking to support local nonprofits. For more info on community events or sponsorship and volunteer opportunities, e-mail ashevilleaffiliates@yahoo.com or visit www.affiliatesofasheville.com.
