Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is looking for an “inspirational and deserving family” in Asheville. The deadline for nominations is June 9.
Here’s the full info:
“Do you know a family whose home deserves an Extreme Makeover, or a family who simply deserves a home? If so, the producers of ABC’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition want to hear from you.
Ty Pennington and his crew have been all across the map and now they want to drive that famous bus to Asheville!
‘We are looking for the deserving people and inspiring families that America can really root for,’ says Supervising Casting Director Adam Drucker.
What does it take to be picked for an Extreme Makeover? ‘We’re looking for those special people who have amazing strength of character and never give up. Whether it’s keeping their chin up in really tough circumstances or going out of their way to help others. We want to help people whose stories have really affected their community or made a big difference in other people’s lives.’ Drucker added: ‘There are a lot of people who are heroes to those around them because of the way they inspire others and quietly serve their communities on a daily basis.’
The Extreme Makeover: Home Edition producers are looking for families whose homes desperately need to be rebuilt. ‘We really want to help families whose homes present major problems for the family, those big issues that affect the family’s quality of life on a daily basis. We want to find deserving people who just don’t have the resources, ability or time to fix those serious issues without our help.’
This season Extreme Makeover is also looking for families, who do not own their own homes, so long as land is available through other sources, a nonprofit, city or county.
Nominations may be submitted by the family or by a member of their community. Each nomination must include the names and ages of every member of the household along with a description of the major challenges within the home, and a short description of the family story. Anyone submitting a nomination should be sure to explain why the nominated family is deserving, heroic, and/or a great role model for their community. If possible, include recent photos of the family and home. All nominations must include a contact phone number.
Please send nominations to CastingNorthCarolina@gmail.com. The deadline for nominations is June 9. Don’t delay!

Each episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is self-contained and features a race against time to complete a project that would ordinarily take months, involving a team of designers, contractors and several hundred workers who have just seven days to rebuild an entire property.
Each episode begins with team leader Ty Pennington’s now-famous ‘Good morning!’ wake-up call, when he and his design team surprise the unsuspecting family with news that their home has been chosen to receive a makeover. Viewers not only witness the unbelievable transformation of the house, but during the final and emotional reveal, they see how the home makeover has impacted the lives of the deserving families.
The design team includes team leader Ty Pennington, with designers Paul DiMeo, Paige Hemmis, Michael Moloney, Ed Sanders, Tracy Hutson, Eduardo Xol, John Littlefield, Jillian Harris and Xzibit.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, which has won back-to-back Emmy Awards as Best Reality Program (non-competitive), is in its 7th season on ABC. The program is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding. Brady Connell and George Verschoor are the executive producers; and David Goldberg is the president of Endemol USA.”
I am both inspiring and deserving.
If not me, how about that punk house off of Merrimon?
awrr man, this show makes me teary every time i watch it.
does my nomination have to be missing a limb or house 14 orphans?
OR BOTH?
they prefer those scenarios, i think.
I don’t know of anyone, but would love to know how to volunteer to help build when they do come to town. What the communities can do in such a short amount of time is so inspiring and I’d love to be part of it.
I’ll be glad to help them make their millions … I mean offer such inspiring charity!
Our family would LOVE to help with the project! What a great missions opportunity this would be!
