Not so into Bele Chere? What about Hell Chere?

If you were planning to take a pass on Bele Chere, or if you were going to be downtown anyway but wanted something more heavy and more indoors, or if you really wanted to have your music with a side of totchos and video games, the Hell Chere is for you.

The not-exactly-anti-or-pro Bele Chere event takes place Friday, July 29, from 6-11 p.m. at Arcade Asheville. Here’s the lineup:

• The Pleasures of the Ultraviolet (screamo, with masks, from Asheville) 6 p.m.

• Zombie Queen (loud and crazy all-girl rock from Asheville), 7 p.m.

• Bad Cop (rant-rock from Nashville), 8 p.m.

• Ivan the Terribles (disturbing by highly entertaining rock from Asheville), 9 p.m.

• The Critters (psychedelic pop/rock from Asheville; seen here), 10 p.m.

“We’re hosting an evening of tuneage on the patio you won’t soon forget,” says the Facebook invite. “And be sure to hang out afterward to kick off the Bele Chere No Cover Dance Weekend right.”

Even better news: “All bands bitchin’, all no cover!”

  1. Don’t forget You Dirty Rats and Drunken Prayer at Pulp of Friday the 29th. Will be a guaranteed good time on the outskirts of the mayhem.

  2. TheZachary

So… the first band is “The Pleasures of the UltravioleNt” not violet. They aren’t screamo and they’ve worn masks one time. Before you go labeling things, maybe you should look into them. Just sayin.
