Spanning three days, three states, thirty towns and 425 miles, one of the country’s longest yard sale routes will conclude in Woodfin this week.
Over the course of June 5-7, organizers are encouraging shoppers to start in Convington Ky. and roll down U.S. Highway 25 through Tenn. for 425 miles all the way down to Woodfin in northern Buncombe County. The bargain hunters will be greeted along the scenic highway by sellers looking to unload a plethora of antiques and oddities. The Town of Woodfin is eagerly embracing the concept, encouraging property owners along U.S. 25 to participate and consider renting space to vendors.
“Woodfin is excited to be hosting the last stop for this mega event” said Town Manager Jason Young in a press release. “We anticipate shoppers will stay over and take advantage of Woodfin’s comfortable accommodations, restaurants, and shops after the sale.”
The yard sale is expected to bring a large number of people from all around the region and beyond to host towns. “It’s a wonderful opportunity to showcase Woodfin to those who haven’t visited us before” Young added.
This is the third year in a row for the U.S. 25 Yard Sale, but it’s now grown 250 miles longer and includes North Carolina for the first time. Last year’s events concluded in East Tennessee. Multi-destination yard sales spanning long distances are a growing shopping trend and attraction around the country. Organizers bill this week’s U.S. 25 event as the sixth longest yard sale in the country.
