LEAF announces lineup for Fall 2014, 39th festival

LEAF is thrilled to announce the stellar lineup of performing artists for the Fall 2014 LEAF Festival, taking place October 16-19 in Black Mountain, NC. “Celebrate Unity, Inspire Every Voice” at the 39th  LEAF Festival and experience multiple cultures with the harmonious and stirring tones of Nahko & Medicine for the People; influential hip hop legends De La Soul; and the uniquely beautiful banjo duo known as Bela Fleck & Abigail Washburn. Another fantastic headliner will be performing as well, to be announced at a later date.

Other LEAF musical attractions include bluegrass duo Rising Appalachia and American Steampunk performance troupe MarchFourth Marching Band. The 39th LEAF features more diverse performers such as the Bhangra/Celtic ensemble from Canada, Delhi 2 Dublin, and  soulfully seductive sounds from The Nth Power. The lineup rounds out with genre-bending performances from the infusions East LA and Afro-Caribbean beats of Las Cafeteras, transcendental folk-rockers Mandolin Orange and many more.

LEAF Festival musicians provide the soundtrack to a memorable experience filled with cultural treasures and fun around every corner. Combining a great diversity of names and faces with a myriad of community dances including Salsa, Swing, Cajun, the Waltz and traditional, contemporary and techno forms of Contra; poetry and puppetry slams; healing arts workshops; folk art and handcraft exhibitions, installations and interactive demonstrations; camping, watersports and outdoor adventure; and kid’s activities throughout the festival.  Additionally, this LEAF every artist, musician, and performer will not only be showcasing world class talent, but will be sharing a powerful positive message through their craft.

Purchase tickets online at theLEAF.org or by phone at 828-686-8742. All prices are discounted through September 3rd. Adult prices start at $41 for the day or $147 for the weekend. Additional discounts apply for local commuting residents and youth ages 10 through 17. Children 9 and younger are always free. Limited car camping, lodge rooms and cabins are available.  Festive attitudes welcome!
