The ‘Mountain Moral Monday’ rally will return to downtown Asheville Aug. 4, aiming to bring together thousands of people from across the region to protest what they see as destructive state policies and help get out the vote in this year’s election.
The event is being organized by the Mountain People’s Assembly, a coalition of WNC organizations, and regional WNC NAACP branches. It’s billed as a nonpartisan event but, like the related Moral Monday protests in Raleigh, is fueled by frustration with Republican state policies.
The event will feature Rev. Dr. William J. Barber, II, President of the NC NAACP and other guest speakers, as well as unannounced musical entertainment. It runs from 5-6:30 pm at Pack Square Park.
Last year’s Mountain Moral Monday was one of the area’s largest protests in modern history, with some estimating a crowd of up to 10,000.
as of this morning it was unclear as to whether the ‘Mardi Gras Float on FEET’ , the ‘rev. dr.’ Barber would ‘officiate’, so we are THRILLED at his impending appearance…he prays better than any democrackkk ever witnessed! Who knew that a democrackkk could be SO religious in a political situation ???
HOW MANY MILLIONS has THIS MAN, Dr. Barber, fleeced from the NC TAXPAYERS thru the years? WHO PAYS for
HIS health insurance ???

So “unaffiliated voter” . . . your feelings regarding Dr. Barber aside, what do you think of these Moral Monday demonstrations? How do you feel about the job our state legislators are doing? Do you think they’re acting in your best interest? Are they doing a fair job of representing you?
finally, we have relieved ourselves from the 140+ year chokehold in NC by democrackkks who basically
desecrated our state. this G.A. is doing MUCH more than any previous recent democrackkk government has done, and our JOBs creation speaks to that! IMHO, the democrackkk party should be SHUT DOWN due to TOTAL CRIMINALITY…strive to be smarter than ANY democrackkk WANTS you to BE !!!
This is all fine and good. and the link to Mountian Peoples Assembly says “See you there!” but where is real information ? Where? Asheville is a fairly large town…What time? Whenever I decide to show up?. Where are 10,000 people supposed to park? Not in downtown Asheville that’s for sure! Can someone get their act together and do something more than RAh rah rah!? This is only a few weeks away. I would like to come…but I shouldn’t have to be an “insider” to find out basic information.
