From press release:
Hendersonville, N.C., July 28, 2014: Behind every act of charitable giving is a narrative as unique as the person making the gift, and to celebrate this, the theme of Community Foundation of Henderson County’s 2014 Annual Luncheon is “Stories that Make Lasting Legacies.”
Storyteller Jeff Polish will be the guest speaker at the Annual Luncheon from noon to 1:30 p.m., Wed., Aug. 13 at Kenmure Country Club in Flat Rock. Polish is the founder of The Monti, a North Carolina-based nonprofit that invites people to tell personal stories on stage without the use of notes. “I love seeing the power of the spoken word,” Polish said. “When people relate to a story, it can transform them.”
The Annual Luncheon also will feature highlights of CFHC’s past fiscal year, the recognition of outgoing Board of Directors members and of the current Chairman and Past Chairman, and the presentation of the 2014 Richard C. and Vina L. Sauer Charitable Leadership Award. The Sauer Charitable Award is the Community Foundation’s highest honor and celebrates special individuals who provide outstanding leadership through their personal philanthropic efforts in Henderson County.
The cost of the Annual Luncheon is $35 per person. Patron Level participation is also available. Patrons help sustain the philanthropic resources in our community by supporting Community Foundation of Henderson County. The Patron Level cost is $135 per person and includes lunch. RSVP by Aug. 6 by purchasing your ticket by credit card via the online form at https://www.CFHCforever.org/AnnualLuncheon or by calling the Community Foundation at (828) 697-6224.
“Each person provides a gift to our community that adds another piece to the collective story that we call our community,” CFHC President/CEO McCray Benson said. “As we celebrate those gifts of our past and present, it is my sincerest wish that each person attending our annual lunch meeting will feel a renewed inspiration to add to their gift that creates our community legacy. Please come and share in the celebration.”
