It is obvious that neither the media nor legislators have visited Harrah’s Cherokee, or they would realize that the casino does and has had LIVE Black Jack “dealers” for some time. Yes, it is digital, not actual decks of cards in the shoe, but those folks pressing the buttons on the casino side of the table are really LIVE!
This issue is not about Live dealers, it is about dealing real cards from a shoe containing 4-5 decks, rather than pressing buttons to deal “digitally”. Obviously the consumer/gambler very much benefits from this new legislation allowing LIVE dealers, as the odds revert to true Black Jack odds found at other casinos, rather than allowing Harrah’s control of the odds digitally. Have you read anything in the press about that? Yes, the consumer is benefitting from this change, and the legislature appears ignorant of this fact. Hopefully, the casino will follow with LIVE CRAPS tables, which in fact offer the BEST odds in the casino. I have read that legislators have resisted allowing actual craps tables due to “Protecting the Consumer”, when in fact the craps table BENEFITS the consumer!
It is indeed scary how ignorant our elected reps are in Raleigh, and disappointing that the media fails to represent the issue factually.
