Local dance instructor Lisa Zahiya has a busy summer in the works. She’s teaching classes in bellydance and tribal fusion at Studio Zahiya, along with staging her dance theater project, “No She Didn’t… Good Girls Gone Bad and the Dances that Happen” at the Magnetic Field Theatre at the end of this month. And there’s her role in season two of reality show, “Project Bellydance: The Search for America’s Next Top Bellydancer.” Of that, Zahiya writes in her newsletter:
“In August, I am blessed enough to have been selected to travel to Northern California to compete on the Bellydance TV show, Project Bellydance, which will be filming it’s second season. I am honored to be in the cast of 24 contestants (what an amazing line-up) who will compete for a top prize. Then (hopefully after a good rest), in November, I’ll be travelling to Germany to compete in the Bellydancer of the World competition in Duisburg.” Learn more at http://topbellydancer.com.
Zahiya says that in order to pay for her plane tickets, ” I am doing a private lesson sale for the summer. Private lessons are $65 an hour, but until the end of the summer they are 3 for $160 or 6 for $270.” Those lessons can be purchased here: http://www.lisazahiya.com/private-instruction.
