Musicians/storytellers/teachers duo Kim and Reggie Harris will spend three days as artists in residence at Warren Wilson College. They’ll finish their stay with a free performance at the college chapel on Wednesday, April 8, at 7:30 p.m.

Kim and Reggie Harris – musicians, storytellers and teachers – conclude three days as Artists in Residence at Warren Wilson College with a Concert Performance April 8. The performance, free and open to the public, begins at 7:30 p.m. in the College Chapel.
The Harris residency is part of Warren Wilson campus programming celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Voting Rights Act and featuring African-American music and resistance.
Originally from Philadelphia, Kim and Reggie Harris blend a strong folk and gospel legacy with a solid background in classical, rock and pop music. Creative curiosity; years of road and stage experience; and interactions with such performers as Pete Seeger, Tom Paxton and Harry Belafonte have led the duo to produce music that entertains and inspires.
As a result of their CDs “Steal Away” and Get On Board,” as well as materials developed in working with The Kennedy Center, Kim and Reggie Harris have earned broad acclaim for contributions to the resources and knowledge base of the Underground Railroad and modern civil rights movement. They have served on the staff of The Swannanoa Gathering at Warren Wilson several summers.
