New York-based singer-songwriter Christopher Paul Stelling, who used to live in Asheville, has seen his music career take off since speaking to Xpress in 2012. His new album, Labor Against Waste, will be available on June 16. His song “Warm Enemy,” from that forthcoming record, “was recently profiled on NPR’s All Songs Considered, with co-host Robin Hilton remarking ‘a song like that is just full of so much life. It’s really hard to not like something like that,’” according to a press release. The video for “Warm Enemy” premiered at Village Voice. Stelling is slated to appear at Newport Folk Festival in July.
