Low Cut Connie returns to Asheville on Thursday, June 4, for a show at Tiger Mountain. The band — Adam Weiner and Daniel Finnemore (from New Jersey and Birmingham, U.K., respectively) — is currently on tour in support of Hi Honey.
The band played Emerald Lounge in 2012 while on tour for for sophomore effort Call Me Sylvia. “Boozophilia” from that album was named one of Rolling Stone’s top 50 songs of the year.
According to the duo’s bio, “Low Cut Connie played 100+ shows in 2013 and ended the year by recording their third album with renowned producer Thomas Brenneck (Amy Winehouse, Sharon Jones, Charles Bradley, Alabama Shakes).” That record, Hi Honey, features a number of guest appearances including Merrill Garbus (Tune-Yards), Dean Ween and Asheville’s Greg Cartwright of Reigning Sound.
The local show starts at 9 p.m. More info here.
