Mission Neurology Outpatient Services welcomes Dr. Michele Harvey to the team

Asheville, N.C. (Oct. 15, 2013) – Mission Health announces the addition of Michele Harvey, MD, to the team of neurologists at Mission Neurology. Dr. Harvey is an associate member of the American Academy of Neurology and an active community volunteer.

“Dr. Harvey will be a valuable addition to our team at Mission Neurology,” said Duff Rardin, MD, Outpatient Medical Director of Mission Neurology. “Dr. Harvey has been providing expert neurological care for more than seven years and works closely with patients to deliver the best treatment possible. Her extensive experience combined with her compassionate patient care philosophy will result in exceptional service to the communities we serve in western North Carolina.”

Prior to her position at Mission Neurology, Dr. Harvey worked at Southcoast Brain and Spine Center in Dartmouth, Mass. She previously held positions at Hillandale Neurology in Lithonia, Ga., and Georgia Neurology and Sleep Medicine Associates in Tucker, Ga. Dr. Harvey completed her residency in neurology and internship in internal medicine at Emory University in Atlanta. She received her medical degree from the Emory University School of Medicine and her bachelor’s degree in biology from Spelman College, also located in Atlanta.

“I am thrilled to join the talented staff and physicians at Mission Neurology,” said Dr. Harvey. “Even as a child I was fascinated by the mysteries of the brain, and my passion for neurology continues to grow every day. I believe in thorough, patient-centered care, as do my fellow physicians at Mission Neurology, and I look forward to working with the patients of western North Carolina.”

In her spare time, Dr. Harvey enjoys trying new restaurants, watching movies and traveling. She plans to visit as many beaches as she can across the world.

Outpatient services at Mission Neurology are provided by board-certified neurologists who see patients in need of follow-up care after hospitalization and new patients referred from their physicians.
