Asheville’s homegrown, hometown super Soul-full super heroes, the Secret B-Sides come back to the Isis Restaurant & Music Hall for more sci-fi flavored love jams and groovy good times music. Keepin’ it loose, giving you the funk juice, why not hop on board the B-Sides caboose?

Don’t take our word for it; here’s what Alli Marshall from the Mountain Xpress has to say about us: “the Secret B Sides is a local old-school-meets-new-school soul/funk/R&B outfit . . . sultry, sweaty, swaggering sounds hit just the right note. Add to that . . . a wrench-tight live show and a crazy-brilliant accompanying cosmology involving dinosaurs, flying saucers and a mystical land of flowers, and you begin to understand why the Secret B-Sides are the current reigning kings of soul.” More about the Secret B-Sides: www.thesecretb-sides.com

To top it off, we have our long-time friend and collaborator, Whitney Moore debuting her new band with an opening set.

Whitney is best known locally for her work with Juan Benavides Group, Montuno, and the occasional appearance with Russ Wilson’s Orchestra. After years of keeping her own original Soul music on the back burner, she has been inspired to give it another go by Asheville’s music mastering mastermind, Michael Hynes, who plays bass in Whitney’s new band. She is also joined by long time friend Chuck Lichtenberger on keys, Phil Bronson on the drum kit, and Duane Simpson on guitar.

This is truly an All-Star cast of local musicians and artists. See you at the party!
