Socialist Equality Party offers fascism lecture Sept. 26

Press release from the Socialist Equality Party:

Ed Hightower, member of the Socialist Equality Party (WSWS.org), will give a free public lecture at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 151 WT Weaver Blvd., Asheville, in the Visitors’ Center of the Botanical Gardens at Asheville.

The lecture is titled “Fascism: What It is and How to Fight It”.

Ed will review historic examples of fascist regimes, calling attention to similarities and differences to the current political environment, and he will pay particular attention to anti-fascist political strategies.

Current political forces are increasingly polarized in America, with many commentators using language that recalls the historic struggle against the Axis powers. President Trump has identified Democratic Party presidential candidates as “Socialists”.

Ed Hightower will be available for interviews, either by phone or in person. Contact him by phone at (757) 406-0019 or email at: hightower@wsws.org.
