Press release from Polk County Sheriff’s Office:
On Saturday October 19, 2019 the Saluda Fire and Rescue Department, Polk County Rescue Squad, Polk County Emergency Management, and other mutual aid agencies responded to a report of a person having fallen at Big Bradley Falls. The fallen hiker was identified as Aaron Post of Charleston, SC by family members at the scene of the fall. After an extensive rescue effort, the fallen hiker was extracted from the bottom of the falls and transported to St. Luke’s hospital where he succumbed to the injuries sustained in the fall.
At this time a thorough investigation is being conducted into the circumstances surrounding Mr. Post’s death and no foul play is suspected. No further information will be released at this time due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, however a full press release will be issued upon the conclusion of the investigation.
