Asheville Museum of Science (AMOS), in partnership with The Collider, presents February’s Science Pub –Climate Change and Your Health.
WHO: WNC Climate and Health Workgroup is a local collaborative of scientists, clinicians, and public health leaders. Its goal is to motivate effective and meaningful engagement with the public and policymakers around the regional impacts of climate change on human health, potential solutions, and co-benefits of resilience planning.

Maggie Sugg, Department of Geography and Planning at Appalachian StateWHAT: AMOS Science Pubs combine the best of Asheville under one roof from interesting science to great brews, all while advancing the museum’s core values and science literacy. Science Pubs are held every third Thursday of the month. February’s Pub explores the ways in which climate change and weather are already impacting our nation’s health and what health impacts residents in WNC might expect in the future. The presentation will conclude with ways individuals can get involved in local climate action efforts and be part of the larger conversation. The talk will give attendees a more comprehensive view of how protecting the planet protects public health and the health of future generations.
WHEN: Thursday, February 20, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., and the presentation begins at 6:00 p.m. Free admission. Complimentary drinks and light snacks.
