Press release from Alliance for Aviation Across America:
Washington, DC – The Alliance for Aviation Across America today commended Mayor Barbara G. Volk of Hendersonville, North Carolina for proclaiming December “General Aviation Appreciation Month.” General aviation airports in the state of North Carolina support over $4.9 billion in total economic output.
“Mayor Volk’s proclamation helps highlight the economic benefits and valuable service that general aviation provides to the City of Hendersonville and the State of North Carolina,” said Selena Shilad, Executive Director of the Alliance for Aviation Across America. “We sincerely thank the Mayor and the City of Hendersonville for recognizing this vital industry.”
The proclamation not only cites the economic impact of general aviation and local airports like the Hendersonville Airport, but also the importance of investing in this infrastructure to encourage enthusiasm in flying and grow the next generation of pilots and aviation professionals, as well as to encourage future growth through investments in sustainability.
