This April, the City of Asheville Business Inclusion Office will conduct three free training sessions to help local businesses learn how to work on local government contracts. These training sessions will be facilitated by the A-B Tech Small Business Center and take place from April 13-15.
Training 1: Is Doing Business with Government Right for My Business?
April 13, 1 to 3 p.m.
Often, business owners want to know if their business can contract with the government, especially with their local government. This training will inform business owners what products and services the City of Asheville may procure.

Training 2: As a Business Owner, Am I Ready to do Business with My Local Government Agency?
April 14, 1 to 3 p.m.
This training will help the business owner to understand if they are ready for the opportunity and what homework they could do to get ready.

Training 3: I Won the Contract, Now What?
April 15, 1 to 3 p.m.
This training addresses performance, deliverables, customer service, and ethical issues that may arise during the course of the business owner’s contract.

About the Business Inclusion Office
The City’s Business Inclusion Office actively seeks to identify minority and women-owned businesses for opportunities to participate as providers of goods and services to the City. The intent of Business Inclusion is to:
-Widen opportunities for participation;
-Increase competition; and
-Ensure the proper and diligent use of public funds.The City of Asheville’s Business Inclusion Office aims to do so by:
-Increasing the City’s awareness of available minority, women, and small business vendors;
-Increasing Minority, Women, and Small Business Enterprises (MWSBEs) utilization in City contracting;
-Promoting existing and start-up development of small business growth and profitability in the Asheville Regional Area; and
