APD seeks public help identifying East Asheville bank robber

Press release from Asheville Police Department:

Asheville Police Department Detectives are asking for the public’s help locating an East Asheville bank robber.

At 9:57 a.m., a man walked into First Citizens Bank (1201 Tunnel Road), passed a note to a teller, then demanded cash. After taking the cash, the man then took off before the police arrived and quickly left the area.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help to locate the robber. The robber is described as a white male last seen wearing a black or grey zip-up jacket with a hood and a black medical mask.

If anyone has any information about the identity of these suspects, you are encouraged to contact APD at (828) 252-1110.  Or you can send an anonymous tip using the TIP2APD smartphone application (search “Asheville PD” in your app store) or by texting TIP2APD to 847411.
