The City of Hendersonville is reaching the final stage of the Gen H Comprehensive Development process, a community-driven plan that will shape the city’s future growth and conservation efforts. Community members are invited to review the draft plan and provide their feedback through several upcoming opportunities before the Hendersonville City Council adopts the final version.
How to Participate:
Online Survey
The public is invited to review the draft comprehensive plan and provide feedback in an online survey. Community members can review the draft plan and provide feedback on each chapter by visiting
www.publicinput.com/genhfinal.Submit your feedback by June 17.
Public Meetings
Planning Board: The Planning Board’s Gen H presentation and public comment opportunity is scheduled for June 24 at 4:00 PM at City Operations located at 305 Williams Street. This meeting will include a presentation of the Gen H Draft Plan and an opportunity for public comment.City Council: The City Council’s Gen H Public Hearing is scheduled for July 10 during the Council’s regular meeting at 5:45 PM at City Operations located at 305 Williams Street. This meeting will include a public hearing where public comment on the draft plan will be accepted.
City Staff and the Gen H Consultant Team will make revisions based on feedback from the community, City departments, advisory boards, and direction from City Council with plan adoption tentatively scheduled for August 1.
About Gen H:
The Gen H Comprehensive Plan aims to create a visionary framework for Hendersonville’s sustainable growth and conservation up to 2045 and beyond. Named Gen H to foster a generational perspective on Hendersonville’s future, this plan builds upon the foundation laid by the existing 2030 plan, while also updating and expanding the policy framework for the years ahead.

Since June 2023, the planning process has involved extensive community
engagement including:·Stakeholder interviews
·Public surveys, presentations and pop-up events
·Council Comp-versation meetings hosted by City Council members
·Open houses and roundtable discussions
·Underrepresented population outreach and input opportunities
·Regular meetings of the volunteer Community Advisory Committee
·Policymaker workshops and advisory board feedback
