AVL Airport ground transportation pickup area relocating to Shuttle Lot South

Press release from Greater Asheville Regional Airport Authority:

Asheville Regional Airport (AVL) has finished the final phase of the Shuttle Lot South, located on Airport Rd./ Highway 280, south of the airport, across from the WNC Ag Center. With the completion of the north end of the lot, a new access road is now open, allowing passengers to access the lot from Terminal Drive. This access road is located on the south end of Terminal Drive behind the Marathon gas station. The entrance on Airport Road/Highway 280 will also remain open.

The ground transportation pickup area, where passengers can access taxis and ride app services (such as Uber, Lyft) will be relocated on Tuesday June 18 to the north end of Shuttle Lot South. The ground transportation pickup area is currently located on the second floor of the Parking Garage.

Passengers can access the new ground transportation pickup area and Shuttle Lot South via airport shuttles, which pick up on the curb outside of baggage claim and run continuously. Passengers may also choose to walk down the sidewalk south of the airport terminal to the pickup area. There is now a sidewalk that extends from the terminal to Shuttle Lot South, and the walk (primarily downhill and flat) takes approximately 5 minutes.
