Ahleuchatistas are heading to Spain and Italy, and we should all be very jealous. So exciting is the duo’s upcoming tour that guitarist Shane Perlowin and percussionist Ryan Oslance listed their five overseas tour dates with three exclamations marks. Each. But even if you can’t pack a bag and follow Ahleuchatistas to Rincón Pío Sound!!!, you can catch the band at The Mothlight in advance of that European jaunt. Think of it as the tour launch.
Even better, the show will be recorded. It might look a little something like this:
Ahleuchatistas’ European tour is in support of new project, Blind Thorns (“haunting improvised noise-rock music based on pre-defined structures,” according to the band’s SoundCloud page) with Swiss vocalist Antoine Läng. “Blind Thorns will release their debut self-titled album this summer,” Perlowin says in an email. “This will be the band’s first European tour since the release of Heads Full of Poison on Cuneiform and Harvest Recordings.”
Ahleuchatistas performs with Mande Foly and Fine Peduncle at The Mothlight on Friday, May 2. 9:30 p.m., $8.
